Attend a public meeting to learn about potential updates to the Downtown Infill Incentive District

The Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) is currently working on downtown updates for the City of Tucson Filling Incentive Neighborhood, or IID, a zoning option for downtown. This zoning option is a valuable tool to promote infill development and has helped create over 1,000 new homes as well as new jobs and businesses downtown and along the streetcar route. Potential updates to the IID would make it easier to use the overlay to build housing and create an incentive for affordable housing.

We hope you will join a virtual or in-person public meeting to learn more and provide feedback on potential IID updates.

On February 8, 2022, the PDSD was led by the mayor and council (the documents of this meeting can be found here) to begin a public engagement process to update the IID regulations before the expiry date of January 31, 2023. This process includes a series of stakeholder meetings and broader public review, before being presented to the Planning Commission and to the Mayor and Council later this year.
