NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Cerner Corp. (CERN) reported fourth-quarter profit of $174.8 million on Tuesday.

On a per-share basis, the North Kansas City, Mo.-based company said it earned 59 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time costs and stock option charges, were 93 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 88 cents per share.

The healthcare information technology company posted revenue of $1.45 billion in the period, which missed Street’s forecast. Six analysts polled by Zacks expected $1.49 billion.

For the year, the company reported earnings of $555.6 million, or $1.84 per share. Revenue was reported at $5.76 billion.

Cerner stock is down 1% year-to-date, while the S&P’s 500 index has fallen nearly 10%. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $91.83, up 28% over the past 12 months.
