TORRANCE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–California Manufacturing Technology Consulting® (CMTC) recently gave leadership training to HPP Food Services to help the company achieve its business goals.
ICPK Corporation dba HPP Food Services, founded in 2015, is the first toll in Southern California and the first in the United States to provide co-packing services for HPP (high pressure processing) products. HPP is a natural food processing method that uses cold water and up to 87,000 psi to neutralize listeria, salmonella, E. coli and other pathogens. HPP Food Services has 150 employees and annual sales of $10 million.
HPP Food Services was looking for help developing employee leadership skills to improve interpersonal communication, team effectiveness, ability to adapt to change, and a mindset of continuous improvement. CMTC and HPP Food Services discussed ways a leadership training program could help HPP Food Services achieve its goals.
CMEB offered nine remote leadership development workshops and additional technical support to HPP Food Services. Through team exercises, lectures, and training videos, employees learned workplace skills, including work planning and prioritization, peer communication, and workplace conflict management strategies. using tools such as AEIOU (recognize, express, identify, result, understand) and DESC (Describe, Express, Specify, Consequence).
HPP Food Services reported that employees who participated in leadership training improved their individual and team skills, improving performance and driving business results. The company expects a $2 million increase in sales, 20 new employees and the retention of 10 employees within 12 months of leadership training. Company management plans to invest $200,000 in products and processes, $1 million in capital improvements, $200,000 in information systems and software, and $200,000 in their main -work over the next 12 months.
