GA Telesis Engine Services with Another Big Win – Signs Major CFM56-7B Engine Maintenance Contract with Lion Air Group | Company

HELSINKI, Finland–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sep 20, 2022–

GA Telesis Engine Services (“GATES”), a global jet engine maintenance services provider offering customized engine overhaul services, and Lion Air have entered into a long-term engine maintenance agreement. Lion Air, Indonesia’s largest airline and Southeast Asia’s second-largest low-cost airline, has signed the agreement covering the airline’s Boeing 737NG fleet. This strategic win for GATES covers the maintenance, repair and overhaul of CFM56-7B engines for Lion Air Group airlines (including Batik Malaysia and Thai Lion Air). Also, it includes rental engine support, LLP management, and logistics support. The first engine of this contract will be introduced at GATES at the beginning of October 2022.

The Lion Air Group held 70% domestic market share post-pandemic in the second quarter of 2022 and continues to increase capacity to meet increased passenger numbers. “I appreciate GATES’ tenacity in working with Lion Air to reach an agreement that is beneficial to both parties and I look forward to continuing our business with GATES in the near future!” said Dennis Kirana, deputy. Director PT Batam Aero Technic, MRO subsidiary of the Lion Air group.

“This win enables us to bring world-class engine services to the world’s fifth-largest domestic aviation market through GATES Ecosystem TM, bringing together the combined strength of GA Telesis to deliver innovative and integrated solutions,” said said Avinash Singh, Senior Manager – Sales and Business Development, GATES – APAC. “It also opens up business with the group’s Thai and Malaysian subsidiaries, heralding a new era of growth for GATES in APAC, and we can’t wait to get started!” Avinash added.

“This is a tremendous win for GATES and contributes significantly to our expansion plans in Asia Pacific. There was no better airline to partner with on this trip! added Russ Shelton, President, GA Telesis Engine Services.
