Qatar Airways is one of my favorite business class products in the world, offering exceptional comfort, food and service. It also happens to be a better deal than ever when you use frequent flyer miles. That’s why I recommend you take advantage of the excellent availability of rewards currently available to lock in travel in 2023.
Space Qatar Airways Business Class Award for Spring/Summer 2023
Wing view pointed out that Qatar Airways has released a glut of premium cabin award space on flights around the world for travel next May and June.
Although this marks a warm time of the year in the Middle East, India and East Asia, you can continue to Africa and enjoy the Southern Hemisphere winter in what is a point ideal.
Using American Airlines Miles you can fly between the USA and Doha for 70,000 miles each way in Business Class or you can fly between the USA and South Africa via Doha for only 75,000 miles each . This 5,000 mile bonus for a connecting flight to anywhere on the African subcontinent deserves your attention.
Qatar Airways flies from the following US gateways:
- Atlanta (ATL)
- Boston (BOS)
- Chicago (ORD)
- Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
- Houston (IAH)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Miami (MIA)
- New York (JFK)
- Philadelphia (PHL)
- Washington (DIA)
These tickets can be reserved online at AA.com.
You can also book directly through Qatar Airways Avios (a Citi transfer partner) or British Airways Avios, which recently reduced Qatar Airways redemption prices.
Why book a 2023 award space now?
Those who booked their 2022 award space in 2021 saw huge savings, as air travel has been so busy this summer that we haven’t even seen much last-minute space open at economy levels. Prices are higher than ever for last minute reward space on most legacy carriers.
I expect 2023 to be another busy year for travel, especially in the summer, even as we enter a recession. So smart guys will book now, noting that if you’re using American Airlines miles, you can cancel at any time without penalty and redeposit the miles.
Qatar Airways offers a luxurious business class product and an excellent network around the world. If you have the miles, I would seriously consider vacationing in South Africa next summer or one of the many other destinations Qatar serves.
