Major Fuel Price Increases – FBC News

New fuel and LPG prices will come into effect from Sunday.

Motor Spirit will cost $3.02 a liter – a jump of 0.25 cents, diesel will retail at $2.85 a liter after a 0.46 cent increase, premix will rise 0.29 cents to seize sell at $2.88 a liter and jet fuel will rise to $2.33 a liter – up 0.49 cents.

A 4.5 kg bottle of gasoline will sell for $18.51 after an increase of 0.40 cents, a 12 kg bottle will increase by $1.05 and cost $49.35, bulk gas will increase to $3.81 and the Autogas will retail for $2.55.

The chief executive of the Fiji Trade and Consumer Commission, Joel Abraham, said the war in Ukraine had caused major disruptions in the global fuel market and as a result fuel prices had changed dramatically. .

He adds that Fijians should prepare for rising fuel prices as the war continues and escalates.

The review of fuel prices in Fiji follows a one-month lag period and as such prices are based on imports made in March 2022 by oil companies.
