MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) – The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce will be hosting information sessions as part of its Mission Economic Resiliency, Innovation and Training (MERIT) project.
The City of Mission and Mission Prosperity Ventures, a non-profit organization, received a $ 100,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration, which aims to help communities implement strategies to make changes to their economies by response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MERIT project is “aimed at helping existing businesses recover from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and improving resilience to deal with similar future crises,” according to a statement.
Information sessions for businesses in Hidalgo County will begin on October 13 at the Grand Mission Chamber of Commerce from 11 a.m. to noon.
Events are free and have 40 slots available to businesses that have been in business for more than two years.
