‘SNL’ brings back Jason Sudeikis’ Joe Biden to help cold president

The NBC variety show opened Saturday’s episode with President Biden, played by James Austin Johnson, disappointed that no one likes him as much as before.

“I don’t understand. People used to love me. The press called me ‘Uncle Joe.’ I miss the old me. Where the hell did this guy go? ” Johnson’s Biden asked.

Then a ghostly fog filled the Oval Office and Jason Sudeikis, who hosts this weekend’s episode, appeared as Vice President Joe Biden – a character he played when he was a cast member. .

“Hey-o!” Biden said of Sudeikis, pulling on an aviator jacket and sunglasses. “Trick or Treat, smell my feet. Hey, just kidding.”

He then told Biden again that he was “the ghost of Biden’s past,” and explained that where he’s from, he’s still vice president, which is an easy job.

“We are like America’s wacky neighbor,” he said. “We just walked in with an ice cream cone, aviator sunglasses, finger guns.”

Old Biden then told Johnson’s Biden to relax and started rubbing his shoulders and smelling his hair.

The new Biden explained that it was harder for him to have fun because the “last president messed it up” by doing things like serving McDonald’s in the White House and fighting with the Pope.

“Wow!” said Biden of Sudeikis. “Hillary has turned awesome! “

Then another fog appeared and another Biden, played by Alex Moffat, appeared. Moffat briefly played Biden last season.

“Who the hell are you?” Biden of Sudeikis asked.

“I’m Joe Biden,” Moffat’s Biden said.

“From when,” Biden of Sudeikis asked.

“March 2021,” he said before disappearing.

The ghost of Biden Past then said he was due to return in 2013, but Johnson’s Biden didn’t want him to leave.

“I can’t do this without you,” he said.

“Of course you can,” Sudeikis’ Biden said. “Because guess what, buddy, you are me.” And now I want you to stand up straight, flash those 100% natural helicopters that we have and remember we may be from different eras, but at the end of the day we’re both crazy about Joe ‘Biden. “

Next, two Biden’s got together to say the show’s iconic slogan, “Live … From New York! It’s Saturday Night!”
